It may not come as a complete surprise given she was pictured posing in the latest LZR Racer X Swimsuit for the launch last week, but Speedo has officially announced it has signed up Siobhan-Marie O’Connor as the newest member of its sponsorship team.
O’Connor, who was the youngest British Swimmer to compete at the London 2012 Games and picked up an impressive six-medal haul at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, joins the Speedo team ahead of the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
Nineteen year O’Connor, who swims in Bath alongside another Speedo sponsored athlete, Michael Jamieson, is also one of Sky’s sponsored sport scholars. You can see her profile here.
The 200m individual medley specialist, who, like Jamieson is coached by David McNulty, said: “Speedo is the brand I grew up swimming with, so I’m thrilled to have signed with them. When you think of swimming, you think of Speedo and I cannot wait to be able to work with them; helping to raise the profile of the sport.”
The deal will see Siobhan signed with the UK’s leading swimwear brand until the end of 2016.
